Maher Naji

Biography:

After his family fled from Sawafer Ashamaly village, Maher Naji born in 1963 in Jabalya refugee camp, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He travelled to Russia in 1983, where he earned a B.Sc. in Art and a Ph.D. in architecture at the Baron Stiegliz Academy of Art and Architecture in St. Petersburg.
After his return to Gaza in 1994, Maher Naji worked as a Lecturer at Faculty of Architecture at the Islamic University, and from 1994 to 2007 he worked as Director of the Housing Policies Department at the Ministry of Housing in Palestine.
